Changesets @lighthouse

Reported by Artem Vasiliev | March 3rd, 2008 @ 01:24 AM

This is about Lighthouse changesets at this site.

Lighthouse seem to support changeset viewing, and e.g. ticket #193 references changeset [449] (http://err.lighthouseapp.com/pro...) but I get 404 when I try to open it.

I added will_paginate to codenotifier.com (http://codenotifier.com/projects/10), a tool for tracking opensource commits, and wanted to see changeset links for it along with Lighthouse ticket references. It works perfect for Trac projects, e.g. for Rails: http://codenotifier.com/projects/19 (see those 'diff' links).

    Hey Artem,

Thanks for your concern. Unfortunately, things aren't that simple now. Previously, all err plugins were in a single SVN repository. Now, we use git on GitHub.com. The main repository for will_paginate is here: http://github.com/mislav/will_pa...

The old SVN repository is still receiving updates, but eventually I'll discontinue it. I'm sure Chris and PJ will also stop updating their plugins in SVN.

Therefore, the Lightouse-SVN integration is stopped. I guess I'll just stop using the square bracket notation for changesets, since Lighthouse makes a link and people follow it only to get a 404.

There could be a post-commit hook for git that informs Lighthouse of a changeset, but it wouldn't be any good since these projects are in separate git repositories now.

codenotifier.com looks useful, but -- since the SVN repo for will_paginate will eventually stop receiving updates -- you are better off with GitHub: http://github.com/mislav/will_pa...

Ok, I got it, thanks.. GitHub looks cool, I guess I'll give a link to its changeset screen when I have Git support in my codenotifier :)
